Interested in contributing to MetroWest Mom?

This is a volunteer position with some really fun perks!

You do NOT have to be a writer or content creator to apply!

We are simply looking for local moms who love to write or create content, have a passion for motherhood and their community, and are looking for a way to connect. Whether you’ve got years of experience or just have a desire to share and connect with other moms, no experience is required! All you need is a passion for being a mom and a love for MetroWest Boston!

What You GIVE

*One original post (written article or social media post) per month on topics of your choice (within our brand and mission) due on the 1st of each month.

*Eight month commitment.

*Liking, commenting and sharing our content to your personal social media pages.

*A passion for moms, kids, and the MetroWest area.

*Reliability, team-spirit, flexibility and a great attitude.

What You GET

*Your photo and bio on the MetroWest Mom’s Meet Our Contributors page (with links to your personal account/business and/or social media channels if you choose to share them).

*Access to our Contributors Telegram Chat, and be the first to know what MetroWest Mom has in the works.

*Opportunity to test products or services for review for FREE (to be posted as an article on MetroWest Mom).

*Opportunity to attend local events for content for FREE (to be posted as an article or on social media)

What We’re Looking For

Think LOCAL :: We love to keep our content relevant to the MetroWest area – or at least within driving distance for day trips and outings. Articles can feature places to go and things to do, or more general topics {potty training, DIY, working, parenthood, etc.} can be given a local twist simply because they are written by a local mom – YOU!

Think MOMS :: It may sound obvious, but MWM’s target audience is made up of moms, so it only makes sense that our content remains under the broad category of parenting, within which there are a ton of subtopics to choose from – the experience of being a mom, phases of development, tips and tricks, home management strategies specific to moms, culture and community, work experience, and of course, all the locally-focused ideas mentioned above. If you have an idea that interests you and your friends, our readers would probably love to read about it too!

Think CONNECTION :: What draws you in to what you see online? Think about what incites your curiosity or makes you want to share a piece of content with a friend. That’s the spark we are looking for!

Most Importantly :: Share what you love, and love what you share!

What Website Content Looks Like

*600-800 words long

*Topic categories: motherhood perspective, tips + tricks, favorite local spots (playgrounds, restaurants, stores, libraries, etc…)

*Photos. If your article covers a local spot, your own photos are always encouraged!

What Social Media Content Looks Like

*5-10 still images OR a video (Reel) 60 seconds or less

*Local spots like playgrounds, unique trails, restaurants, coffee shops, play spaces, local stores, etc… OR tips/tricks that are visually focused

*Post can cover an individual spot or a round up of your favorites (Ex: My 5 favorites lattes in MetroWest)
